Building Specification

Building Specification

The Australian green lease1,2 specifies certain aspects of the building, including:

  • Agreed energy efficiency / lighting efficiency / Australian Building Greenhouse (ABGR) Rating
  • Separate digital metering

However, it develops beyond this to include:

  • Energy management plan
  • Building management committee
  • Dispute resolution

The Model Green Office Leasing Specification3 used by The Governor’s Green Government Council of Pennsylvania takes the form of a building specification.  This document is particularly appropriate during the design stage, as it addresses many aspects of the environmental and comfort performance of the building.  This specification has potential for use on refurbished as well as new buildings.
